Our Fallen.
This has been a traumatic week for a city, a province, a country. Six families in particular. Three families this week have lost a son, a father, husbands. Two families saw their loved ones shot and are recovering. One family has to endure the reality, that it was, in fact their child accused of this.
There are no words to describe how I feel today. How I feel and pray for the wife of an officer who is expecting her second child and facing raising her two children alone. For the parents of the young man accused. For each and every one of the people touched by this event.
I wear my maple leaf proudly. I cry red this week. It has been a restless week for us all.
I would like to thank each and every family member of those involved for the choices and sacrifices they make each day for their families, their community and their country. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and please know we send you much love.
It does my heart proud, as I drove to work yesterday, to see each and every flag at half-mast.
